Set in a beautiful valley below snow capped mountain peaks is the town of Golden, Colorado. That’s where JX2 Productions stopped on April 13th, 14th & 15th.
Ropers had to go through a blizzard, around road closures and still turned out to rope for over $100,000 in cash and prizes.
Jorge Soto came all the way from El Paso, Texas, but he drove home with the brand new 2007 Dodge Dually Pickup. Jorge placed several times in the roping as well
as having to rope off for the truck to close the door on his win. Christine Murphy of Kremmling, Colorado went to the winners circle several times to take home the
High Point Trailer for the header in the bonus roping as well the High Point Female Saddle. Sergio Louis Castillo, a Santa Fe, New Mexico roper took home the High
Point Trailer for the heeler in the bonus roping. Charles Ward and Wade Lamphere were seen at the local Harley Store buying Leather gear on Monday as they both
are now the proud owners of Harley Davidson Motorcycles and the Harley Champions.
Other high point saddle winners of the weekend were Becky Padilla, George Woods, Cayle Lazor , Todd Murray and Clint Buringa. The beautiful championship
buckles of the truck roping went to Charles Ward and Todd Murray with a very good time of 21.99 on three. Clay Keller from Ft. Collins, Colorado was the first roper to
win the JX2 dance contest held between ropings in the arena. At press time we had heard that Dancing with the Stars was trying to find him but we could not get in
touch with Clay’s agent for verification. It was a great weekend with great ropers, great prizes and great fun. Watch the magazines and mark your calendars for
